Hello, I’m the chief director of GD Clinic, located at Gangnam Station Exit 10.
“I got a lifting procedure, but I don’t feel as much change as I expected.”
Even after clearly having undergone a procedure, if you look in the mirror and don’t feel the expected level of change, rather than simply thinking “it doesn’t work,” it may be worth first considering that the factors that make up the face may be acting differently.

Why doesn’t lifting feel as effective as expected?
“I had a lifting procedure, but my jawline feels exactly the same.”
In this case, there may actually have been some improvement in skin elasticity, but the visible change in contour may feel limited.
This is because the elements that make up facial structure are not just one thing.
Three factors that create the facial line
The facial contour is not determined by elasticity alone; the following factors often influence it together.
① Skin elasticity
Lifting procedures can be understood as a method that promotes improved skin elasticity and a tightening effect on tissue.
However, if reduced elasticity is not the main cause, the change may not feel significant.
② Fat amount
If there is a large amount of fat under the chin or in the cheeks, lifting alone does not reduce the weight itself, so changes in contour may appear limited.
In such cases, an approach to the fat structure may also be considered.
③ Volume structure
Although the face may look saggy, in some cases it actually appears more sagged because shadows created by volume loss make it seem that way.
In such cases, volume restoration may also be considered rather than lifting alone.

Why the same lifting can produce different results
Even when the lifting procedure is performed in the same way, the perceived change can differ depending on an individual’s skin condition, fat distribution, and volume structure.
For example
When reduced skin elasticity is the main issue → lifting changes may be felt relatively clearly
When fat amount or structural factors are also present → lifting alone may feel limited in effect
As such, even the same procedure can be perceived differently depending on the conditions it is applied to.
When lifting alone feels insufficient
Elasticity, fat, and volume often influence one another.
Improving elasticity / managing fat structure / supplementing volume
An approach that considers these factors together may be necessary.
The important point is not the specific procedure itself, but the process of identifying which factor is the main cause in the current condition.
If the change after a lifting procedure feels smaller than expected, it may be because other factors among the elements that make up the face are influencing the result rather than the procedure itself.
Because elasticity, fat, and volume each work in different ways, it may be important to set a direction that suits the current condition.
